Support SB350 at the Assembly Utilities & Commerce Committee 7/6

SB350SB350, a key piece of the Governor's climate agenda, has an important hearing before the Assembly Utilities & Commerce Committee on July 6th. SB350 sets three targets for 2030 that will cut greenhouse gas emissions: sourcing 50% of the state's electricity from renewables by that date, significantly increasing building energy efficiency, and reducing petroleum use by 50%. You can support the bill by attending the hearing in Sacramento, and/or calling committee members before the hearing!

Before the hearing, it's important that the Committee members hear from us in support of SB350.  See below for talking points on SB350, and the names and Sacramento office contact info of Democratic Committee members. (Image courtesy California State Senate)

Talking Points

  • The goals in SB 350 are achievable.
  • California can and should do even more.
  • Executing the targets in SB350 (or even higher ones) will bring more jobs and economic development to California than continuing to rely on fossil fuels.
  • Implementing the measures in SB 350 can produce a number of health co-benefits for California’s population from cleaner air, more energy efficiency for low-income households, and cleaner energy sources.
