Some Success, but Further Action Needed on AB 2145

NO2145-Logo-JPG1.jpgWe still need your help to kill AB 2145, this bill that is an attempt to make Community Choice programs unsuccessful and our Investor Owned Utilities more profitable.

The bill has been voted out of the Appropriations Committee and is going to be voted on by the full Senate. It must be voted on by August 29, but amendments may be made at the last minute. PG&E is already reneging on one amendment that they agreed to about allowing grandfathering of counties that pass ordinances by January 1st to show they are working on a CCA.

Please let Senator Noreen Evans, our State Senator, know that you support CCA's and want her to vote against AB 2145 regardless of any changes to the bill. We believe that she is planning to vote against the bill, so thank her for her support. Her number is 916 651-4002.

Also, make calls to the Senate leadership - Darrell Steinberg's office (916 651-4006) and Kevin De Leon (916 651-4022) - let them know that this bill would increase costs and make the point that CCA's like Marin Clean Energy create union jobs. See the No on 2145 website for more information.
