Clearly Tuesday made all of this even more urgent to take a stand on, as Obama can deny the permit while still in office.
Across the nation, many are going to North Dakota to support the Native Americans who are Standing for nature and their rights to clean water and sacred places. Many of us can't make it there but we can all let them know we are with them in their courageous peaceful efforts against a militarized police force, pushed by corporate power, financed by big banks.
November 15th is the day designated for national solidarity demonstrations and there will be one in SF at the US Army Corps of Engineers office, early in the morning on the 15th, because they approved this project without proper consultation and consideration of the environmental damage that could happen.
In Marin, we are planning to have ours in the evening in two locations, one in downtown San Rafael where Citibank is located, as they are the bank coordinating the financing of the Dakota Access Pipeline, from 4:30-6:30pm, and one in Novato on sidewalks in front of Novato City Hall, 901 Sherman Ave, Novato CA 94945 from 4:30-6:00 pm as well.
We need to make it clear that we will not let Obama's Administration or the next incoming President sacrifice indigenous rights,

our water, or our climate for fossil fuel profits. This election was not (clearly not now) going to solve the problem, only a growing people's movement can. Let's introduce our movement to the President-Elect on Nov. 15th!
Bring your signs, drums, and peaceful spirit. Let's energize everyone to get our representatives to create the climate mobilization and social justice we need.
